Udaipur: The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the National Investigation Agency to take over the investigation of the brutal murder of Kanhaiya Lal Teli that took place on Tuesday at Udaipur, Rajasthan. The HMO in its Twitter post has stated to conduct a thorough investigation.

Meanwhile, state CM Ashok Gehlot is scheduled to hold a meeting to discuss the incident at 12 noon today. The meeting between higher officers will be held at his residence in Jaipur.

The Rajasthan Police ADG and DGP of CBI, Dinesh MN in a media interaction said the accused involved in the case are being interrogated and action will be taken against those whose names surface during the probe. He also informed that the victim’s family was granted compensation by the commissioner. The mortal remains of Kanhaiya Lal will reach his family shortly. The family prepare to receive the body for the last rites.

Two men on Tuesday brutally murdered a Hindu tailor in the Udaipur market and posted videos avenging an insult to Islam after the victim had allegedly made social media posts in support of suspended BJP Spokesperson Nupur Sharma. The incident sparked protests across the city amidst which a curfew was imposed and internet services were suspended until further notice.
