New Delhi: India recorded 11,793 fresh covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.57 per cent accounted for 9,486 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,27,97,092. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.49 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 96,700 accounting for 0.22 per cent of the total number of cases. An increase of 2,280 active cases was reported in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded 27 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,25,047.
With the administration of 19.21 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 197.31 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to the health ministry, more than 193.53 crore (1,93,53,58,865) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 11.81 Cr (11,81,81,970) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
