New Delhi: India recorded 9,923 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, taking the infection tally to 4,33,19,396. The recovery rate at 98.61 per cent accounted for 7,293 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,27,15,193. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.55 per cent.
The number of active cases stood at 79,313 accounting for 0.18 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported an increase by 2,613 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded 17 virus related fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,24,890.
With the administration of 13 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 196.32 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.58 Cr (3,58,19,121) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Around 4,19,12,955 precautionary doses have been administered so far.
