Mumbai: Suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma who made comments on the Prophet, which led to global outrage, is untraceable, sources in the Maharashtra Home Department said, adding that the Mumbai Police has been looking for her in Delhi for the last four days.
Mumbai Police’s Pydhonie police station has registered an FIR against Nupur Sharma and sources in the Home Department said the police have enough evidence to place Sharma under arrest.
According to sources, Nupur Sharma was earlier summoned on her email. Now a police team has been sent to give her a physical copy of the same. Mumbai Police had registered a case against Sharma on the complaint of the Raza Academy.
Meanwhile, Maharastra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil was asked about Delhi Police not cooperating in executing summons to Nupur Sharma. He said, “It’s true. Maharashtra police’s attempts are on and Delhi Police should also co-operate.”
