New Delhi: India recorded 12,847 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.64 per cent accounted for 7,985 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,26,82,697. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.47 per cent.
The number of active cases rises to 63,063 accounting for 0.15 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported an increase of 4848 cases in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded 14 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,24,817.
With the administration of 15.27 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 195.84 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.55 Cr (3,55,35,122) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years which began from 10th April, 2022 onwards has jabbed 3,779,606 beneficiaries.
