New Delhi: India reported an increase of 3,089 active coronavirus cases to take its count to 53,637. The country is thirty-second among the most affected countries globally by active cases. On June 15th, it added 8,822 cases to take its total caseload to 43,245,517.
With 15 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 524,792, or 1.21 per cent of total confirmed infections. The top five states which registered maximum cases are Maharashtra with 2,956 cases, followed by Kerala with 1,989 cases, Delhi with 1,118 cases, Karnataka with 594 cases and Haryana with 430 cases.
With 1,358,607 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on June 14th, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 1,955,087,271. The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India, meanwhile, reached 42,667,088 or 98.66 per cent of total caseload with 5,718 new cured cases being reported on June 15th.
