Kashipur, Uttrakhand: Fullfilling their onus of communal harmony, two Hindu sisters in Uttrakhand donated four bighas worth Rs 1.5 crore to an Eidgah, a gesture that touched Muslims so much that they offered prayers for the dead Hindu man on Eid.

The Anti-apartheid act that comes amidst heavy communal tensions in the country is reported from Kashipur, a small town in Udhan Singh Nagar district of the Uttrakhand. Sources revealed that late Brajnandan Prasad Rastogi, who died 20 years ago had confided his relatives about his last wish to donate his agricultural land to an Eidgah for its expansion.

After learning about their fathers’ last wish from close relatives, daughters of the deceased who reside in Delhi and Meerut immediately sought action and donated the land with the permission of their bother who stays in Kashipur.

The Eid committee have been all praise for the girls. Hasin Khan, a member of the committee said” the two sisters are living an example of communal unity. The Eidgah Committee expresses its gratitude to them for the kind gesture. The two sisters will soon be felicitated for what they have done.”
