Rajasthan: Curfew imposed in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur is extended until May 6th sources said.

Over 100 people were arrested in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur as communal tension mounted after clashes between two communities over the hoisting of a flag on Eid. The tense situation prompted authorities to impose curfew in 10 police station areas of Jodhpur, while mobile internet services were suspended on Tuesday. The curfew has been extended for two more days during which mobile services will also remain suspended.

Clashes erupted over the putting up of Eid flags on the Jalori gate circle, which led to stone throwing that injured at least five policemen on Monday night. Police used tear gas and batons to disperse the crowd on Monday night.

The incident happened when a three-day Parshuram Jayanti festival was in progress in Jodhpur.
