Lakhimpur Kheri: Demanding justice for the lives claimed in Lakhimpur Kheri last year, thousands of farmers will arrive in the violence hit district on May 5th.

A delegation from the union, under the banner of United Kisan Morcha, will reach Lakhimpur Kheri on May 5 along with thousands of farmers from Punjab, Rajasthan, UP and Haryana states to ensure justice, announced Harinder Singh Lakhowal, General Secretary of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Punjab) on Saturday.

The farmers have decided to meet the kin of the bereaved families. This gathering comes a week after Ashish Mishra surrendered on April 24th following, SCs command.

On October 3rd last year, 4 farmers were mowed down by an SUV, that belonged to Ashish Mishra when a group agitating against the Centre’s three farm laws was staging a demonstration against the visit of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya.

The Union Ministers son was arrested in this case and was later granted bail by Allahbad HC. However, the freedom was short lived as the SC quashed the bail and ordered Mishra to surrender on April 24th.
