New Delhi: India recorded 1,260 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.76 per cent accounted for 1,404 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,24,92,326. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.24 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 13,445 accounting for 0.03 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 227 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded 83 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,21,264. Out of the total fresh deaths added Kerala accounted for 76 deaths.

With the administration of 18.38 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 184.52 crore according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March 2022. So far, more than 1.81 Cr (1,81,21,823) adolescents have been administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the health ministry, more than 185.21 crore (1,85,21,44,495) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 15.66 Cr (15,66,02,526) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs, it added.
