Raipur: In a bid to curb the rising human trafficking in the state, Raipur police have begun to gather details about auto and bus drivers. This move by the authorities came after a series of human trafficking rackets were busted after the accused absconded in the neighbouring states of Jharkhand and Orissa. The police have deployed additional personnel on the bus stops citing a survey that stated the accused mostly used buses to run away.  

Superintendent of Police, Vijay Agarwal interacting with the media said, “ Apart from curbing the fear for women, this move will also aid us in catching the accused in quickly.”

Notably, 73 women and 5 girls were recovered in Jashpur after a human trafficking racket was busted three months ago. Citing the rise in crime, the state police decided to implement the new strategy.
