New Delhi: India recorded 1,225 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections to 4,30,24,440. The recovery rate at 98.76 per cent accounted for 1,594 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,24,89,004. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.20 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 14,307 accounting for 0.03 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop by 397 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.21 per cent recorded 28 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,21,129. Kerala added 17 backlog deaths.

With the administration of 22.27 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 184.06 Cr (1,84,06,55,005) according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 1.60 Cr (1,60,81,696) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
