New Delhi: India recorded 3,614 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, the lowest since May 12, 2020,. The recovery rate at 98.71 per cent accounted for 5,185 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,24,31,513. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.44 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 40,559 accounting for 0.09 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 1,660 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 89 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,15,803.

With the administration of 18.18 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 179.91 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

According to the ministry, more than 2.11 crore 2,11,51,469 precaution doses for the identified categories of beneficiaries (HCWs, FLWs and people over 60 years) for Covid-19 have been administered so far. Cumulatively,5,57,96,876 first doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to individuals in the 18-44 age group across states and Union Territories and 45,42,13,529 second doses have been given in the same age group since the start of phase 3 of the vaccination drive, according to ministry data.
