New Delhi: India recorded 4,575 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.69 per cent accounted for 7,416 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,24,13,566. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.51 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 46,962 accounting for 0.11 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 2,986 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 145 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,15,355.

With the administration of 18.69 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 179.33 crore according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

According to the health ministry, more than 180.30 crore (1,80,30,59,600) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. Around 15.80 Cr (15,80,54,336) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs, it added.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 8,97,904 tests were conducted. According to ICMR, India has so far conducted over 77.52 Cr (77,52,08,471) cumulative tests.
