Rajasthan: A 34-year-old lady who went missing on February 4th was found lying unconscious in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district, police officials said on Friday. It is being reported that the lady who was allegedly raped by two men lay unconscious for six days after the accused left her near a pond thinking she was dead.
SP Ram Murthy, on Thursday, suspended Deedwana police station SHO and head constable for inaction. It is said that the family of the victim had lodged a complaint two days ago accusing Suresh Meghwal of it. After learning that no information was extracted by officials, the SP engaged the concerned circle officer to initiate a probe, following which Meghwal was detained and interrogated.
Primary investigation revealed, prime accused Meghwal raped the lady along with his acquaintance on February 4th and then strangled her.
“The next morning, on Thursday, a police team went to the spot in search of the woman, who was till then considered dead. Luckily, she survived. She was immediately shifted to a hospital and from there, taken to Jaipur where one inspector has been deputed to look after the arrangement of her treatment,” he said.
A case of abduction and attempt to murder under sections of SC/ST Act was registered on Thursday. A case under the IPC sections would be filed based on the medical reports of the lady, SP added.
