Raipur: Trouble for Kalicharan Maharaj mounted as a cheating case has been registered against him in Raipur. Serving his 14-day remand another controversy adds up to the list. Reportedly, the complainant a resident of Maharashtra claims she paid Rs 25,000 to the seer through Paytm. While a copy of the complaint has been forwarded to the SSP Raipur, PM India and CM Baghel, police have been engaged to investigate the matter.

As per the complaint filed, it is learnt that the lady had approached Kalicharan for a solution to her marital issues. The lady accusing the seer of fraud, claims to have contacted his disciple Ishwaranand  Maharaj and spoke to Kalicharan on a telephonic call. Following which abiding by the instructions given she transferred a sum of Rs 5,000 and Rs 20,000 later to the details given by Maharaj. After learning the truth about the misdeeds of the sage, the lady lodged a complaint against him.

Kalicharan was remanded 14-day judicial custody in a case of alleged derogatory remarks he had made against Mahatma Gandhi. A team from the Naupada police station in Thane city had arrested him from Chhattisgarh capital Raipur, where he was lodged in jail in a similar case. 

On December 31, a Raipur Magistrate court remanded Hindu seer Kalicharan Maharaj who made derogatory remarks against Mahatma Gandhi to judicial custody till January 13. He was later granted bail but has been arrested in other hate speech cases. Kalicharan Maharaj was arrested by the Chhattisgarh police from neighbouring Madhya Pradesh, four days after an FIR was registered under IPC Sections 505(2) and 294 against him and sections 153 A (1) (A), 153 B (1)  (A), 295 A, 505 (1) (B) were also included.
