Raipur: Serving the 14 day remand, suspended ADG GP Singh has filed a petition in the High Court. Singh moved the HC after the District and Sessions court in Raipur rejected his bail plea.
The petition urged the HC to release Singh and allow him to provide details of all his possessions that were cited disproportionate. Singh’s lawyer Ashutosh Pandey submitted the plea to the HC.
Singh, was arrested from Noida on 10 January by a team of Delhi Police that were on his lookout. Following the arrest, he was produced in a special court on Janauary 18, which pronounced 14 day judicial custody of the 1994 batch IPS officer to the Delhi Police.
Singh, a 1994-batch IPS officer, served as additional director general of ACB and EOW before he was transferred to the state police academy in June last year.EOW carried out searches at around 15 locations linked to Singh between July 1 and 3. Investigators claimed to have discovered documents related to movable and immovable assets worth over ₹10 crore during the raids.
