India recorded 3,47,254 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry reported.


The recovery rate at 93.50 per cent accounted, highest since March 2020, for 2,51,777 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,60,58,806. The daily positivity rate stood at 17.94 per cent, lowest since March 2020.


The active caseload stands at 20,18,825 accounting for 5.23 per cent of the total number of cases. 94,774 active cases were reported in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.27 per cent reported 703 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,88,396.

The government is continuously speeding the vaccination drive across the nation as over 1,60,43,70,484 vaccine doses have been administered in India, the Ministry of Health retweeted today. Thus making it a significant milestone to fight against COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has approved proposals to end the weekend curfew in Delhi and has sent the same proposal to Lieutenant Governor Anil Naijal for the final approval.
