New Delhi: Guestlist for 2021 would be scripted in history, as for the first time the Ministry of Defence has included auto drivers, labours, sanitation workers and frontline workers. A senior official from the department said that a special consideration is being given to those who always dreamt of attending the Republic Day celebration at the Rajpath. The Rajpath that is being developed under the Central Vista has been opened for the Republic Day celebrations between Vijay Chowk and India Gate.
As the active count of COVID-19 rouse drastically, a substantial reduction in the list of invitees is seen this year. While people from all walks of life are invited to the celebration, those who arrive at the celebration will be permitted only if they are double vaccinated. Officials have set up thermal screening and medical support for the guests. Moreover, they have been requested to follow all social protocols. As a precautionary measure senior citizens and children below 15 years will not be allowed to attend the event.
Tableaux of 12 states and UTs and Nine ministries have been finalized for the event. Nearly 75 aircrafts have been designated for the flypast to mark the 75th year of Independence. Visitors will also get a glimpse of unseen visuals from the cockpit of fighter planes performing manoeuvres.
