Sukma, Chhattisgarh: As many as 44 Naxalites including 9 women have surrendered in the Karigundam camp and have reverted to mainstream society. The surrender was confirmed by Sukma SP Sunil Sharma.

Sources report the surrendered group included Maoists with a reward of Rs 2 lakhs. The surrendered Naxals will be provided with facilities as per the Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy of the Chhattisgarh government. Earlier in October, a total of 43 Naxals, including nine women cadres, surrendered before the police in Chhattisgarh’s worst Maoist-hit Sukma district.
