Raipur: Amidst the rising Omicron threat from the neighboring state, authorities at Chhattisgarh have re-instated restrictions during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The General Administration Department ( GAD ) on Friday, issued fresh guidelines according to which only 50 percent occupancy will be allowed in all religious and social events.So far, the state hasnt detected Omicron case yet. However, it has ramped up its screening on arrivals from overseas and predominantly neighbouring states. Nearly, 3200 samples of pax has been sent for genome sequencing. All hospitals and COVID dedicated centres have been inspected and reorganized for operations. Helpline number 0771-2235091 has also been activated for residents who desire guidance.

Health Minister TS Singh Deo recalling, the spread of delta variant urged individuals to get themselves fully immunized. It should be noted that it was recently in September that the state was relieved of restrictions. As per the state health bulletin, 296 active cases have been recorded so far. The active caseload declined by 6 in the past 24 hours. 9,93,647 recuperations have been reported since the inception of the pandemic.
