New Delhi: Minutes after the proceedings for the day commenced, both the houses of the parliament were adjourned sine dine amidst protests overs suspension of MPs and UP Farmers killing.

On Tuesday the parliament successfully passed the Elections Laws ( Amendment Bill) in Rajya Sabha a day after the reform was passed by the lower house. While the Smriti Irani introduced the Prohibition of Child Marriage (Amendment) Bill, 2021 in the Lok Sabha. Further, the suspension of Rajya Sabha MP Derek O; Brien was recorded on his unruly behaviour.

Leader of Opposition in RS Mallikarjun Kharge claims the govt deliberately suspended the 12 MPs so that the bills could be passed easily. He stressed,” we requested the govt to revoke the suspension so that the House could run smoothly but they refused.”

Chairman Venkaiah Naidu expressing dissatisfaction with the performance of the House in the winter session said, “ It could have been better. All need to introspect what went wrong. Rules, regulations, procedures, and precedents must be taken into account.”

The Winter Session of the parliament that commenced on November 29th as per the schedule was to conclude on December 23rd. However, repeated adjournments and disruptions made the functioning of the house sporadic. According to Lok Sabha Om Birla, the parliament waster 18 hours and 48 minutes due to disruptions.
