New Delhi: Both the houses of the parliament have been adjourned until 2 pm shortly after protests by the opposition over the Lakhimpur Kheri incident demanding immediate resignation of Minister Ajay Misra Teni aroused.

The adjournment brewed from the statements given by Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha demanding the resignation of MoS Ajay Mishra labelling him a criminal. Urging to let opposition discuss the Lakhimpur Kheri issue, Gandhi said that Teni should be removed from the govt. “We should be allowed to speak about the murder that was committed in Lakhimpur Kheri, where there was an involvement of the Minister and about which it has been said that it was a conspiracy. The Minister who killed farmers should resign and be punished, said Gandhi.”

The lower house began its proceeding on Thursday observing a moment of silence in honour of Group Captain Varun Singh, who succumbed to the injuries sustained in the chopper crash on December 8th.

The National Anit-Doping Bill 2021 and the Wildlife (Protection) Amendment Bill are scheduled to be tabled today in the Lok Sabha while Rajya Sabha will continue the discussion on the Omicron variant.
