Bhilai: The powerhouse and Chandra-Maurya Chowk have been closed for girder launching as the middle part of the flyover is being built on the National Highway. Both the chowks will be closed from December 13th. Earlier, Supela Chowk was closed on August 12th. Before closing both the squares, the traffic police have opened a temporary cut of 30 meters back and forth on both sides of the square. Reportedly, before the launch of the girder in the middle of both the squares, casting will be done on the square itself.

The fear of accidents due to the movement of vehicles during girder casting and launching will remain. Therefore the square is being closed before this work. The Chowk will be reopened after the completion of girder casting and launching. Before closing the chowk, Traffic DSP Gurjit Singh, Traffic TI Vijay Thakur and BL Devangan, Project Manager of Royal Infra Private Limited, a company manufacturing flyover, inspected Chandra-Maurya and Power House Chowk. Drivers coming from Khursipar and Power House Underbridge have to go towards Nandini Road and Raipur. They will use the cutting opened in front of the HP Petrol Pump.
