New Delhi: National Capital reported its first Omicron case which counts as the fifth case of the ferocious virus in the nation. The infected individual returned from Tanzania and has been admitted to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital in Delhi.

On Saturday, India detected its fourth Omicron case in Mumbai in a 33 year old patient who arrived from Cape Town on November 24 with a transit in Dubai and Delhi. The resident of Kalyan Dombivali is reportedly unvaccinated and has been shifted under isolation for treatment.12 of his high risk and 23 low risk contacts had been traced and tested resulted negative for COVID-19, the state health department informed. Thermal screening and RT-PCR booth have been enhanced and strict COVID norms have been imposed in the state.

Omicron that was first reported in South Africa on September 25 is reported to be potentially transmissible and silent. The symptoms of the infection evade the system as soon as inoculation reported top health experts. The WHO has flagged this mutation as variant of Concern and advised govt to incorporate strict regulations.
