Bhopal: On Tuesday, fourteen new Covid cases were reported in Bhopal, the highest daily count in months, causing a flutter. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister, called an emergency meeting of ministers and officials at Mantralaya and ordered the creation of mini containment zones as well as strict mask enforcement.
Covid patients will no longer be permitted to remain in home isolation; instead, they will all be hospitalised, according to the district administration. All Covid-positive patients are being shifted to hospitals, according to Bhopal government spokesperson Arun Rathore. Those who have come into touch with them will be tested and placed in quarantine until their results are received.
The fine for not wearing a mask has been raised from Rs 100 to Rs 500, and enforcement will be stepped up. The CM suggested that the ‘roko-toko’ campaign to catch Covid-norm violators be stepped up. All offices, businesses, stores, service centres, and educational institutions must ensure that their employees are fully vaccinated. Bhopal collector Avinash Lavania said,”If anyone working there is found to have taken only one dose of the vaccine, the office or institution could face closure.” At train stations and airports, the CM ordered RT PCR Covid testing. Rapid antigen testing is now being performed at the station.
