Bijapur: On receiving the information, the force out on patrol in Madded in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh raided the Naxalites camp located in the forest between Gouraram and Bandepara police station area. As both the side exchanged fire, the Naxalites out of fear fled from the camp leaving back their cache. After the Maoists fled, the force recovered a cache of explosives.

SP Kamal Lochan Kashyap said that information was received about the presence of Bhairamgarh Area Committee Secretary Chandrana and his associates. As part of the anti-Naxal operation being run in Bijapur, the DRG, STF and CRPF personnel of 170 companies went on patrol on Friday. During patrolling, on the information of the informer, the force had moved towards Somanpally, Gouraram, Bandepara. On the 4th day of the martyrdom week of Naxalites, the police got information that 20-25 numbers of Naxalites and their leaders are present in the forest.

DRG jawans were dispatched from Gangalur police station on getting the information. At around 8.30 AM, the soldiers stormed the Naxalite camp. However as no immediate retailiation was noted, the force remained alert. On recieving no response, the force then proceeded towards the camp sources reported.
