Chhattisgarh: The son of a battalion head constable was duped in the name of army recruitment. The incident is reported from Kotwali, where the ruthless goons promised an army recruitment in Odisha and following which the latter transferred 1.5 lakh rupees to the fraudsters account. It is reported that the fraudster abandoned the head constable’s son and fled with the cash. Although the incident occurred in March 2020, the head constable filed an FIR on Wednesday.

According to the information, Omkar Tiwari is the head constable in the 17th Battalion, Kawardha. His son Shubham is also preparing for the army and police recruitment. In March 2020, there was an army recruitment rally in the state of Odisha. Meanwhile, a person met him at Karpatri Ground in Kawardha city. He told his name as Premanand Rawat and said that he is a resident of village Bachhrai in Kendrapara district in Odisha and is retired from the Army. He is identified with the Colonel and the Commandant.

The accused promised to be able to get his son enlisted in the army for Rs 1.40 lakh. Omkar Tiwari, in response to his remarks, deposited the amount to his account. The nasty thug then took him to Raipur in the guise of getting his son admitted, but then abandoned him at the station and fled. The accused has not been found since then. In this regard, Mukesh Som, the in charge of the Kotwali police station, stated that by filing an FIR, they are gathering information on the accused.
