Uttar Pradesh: PM Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya departed to poll bound Uttar Pradesh to inaugrate 9 medical colleges in Siddharthnagar.

Reaching the venue the PM was escorted by CM Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel ; taking a look at the exhibition at the venue. Ahead of the launch, Mansukh Mandaviya cited the establishment of 9 medical colleges as an achievement under Modi’s governance. He highlighted that the GoI has opened 157 medical colleges in the country so far, out of which 63 medical colleges are already functional.

“From 1947-2016, only 12 govt medical colleges were there but now under PM Modi’s leadership, CM Yogi Adityanath in Siddarthanagar said.” He further added that 30 medical colleges will be opened in the state. Out of which, 7 MBBS colleges have already commenced operations. The state has planned to launch the remaining colleges very soon. Addrssing the gathering, PM Modi said, “Earlier, Purvanchal’s image was ruined by previous govts, it was defamed because of ‘dimagi’ fever… The same region will now infuse new hopes… people of UP can’t forget how Yogi ji had highlightedabout UPs poor medical system in Parliament, despite not being a CM.”

The colleges would come up in Siddhartanagar, Etah, Hardoi, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, Deoria, Ghazipur, Mirzapur and Jaunpur. 8 Medical Colleges have been sanctioned under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme for “Establishment of new medical colleges attached with district/ referral hospitals” and 1 Medical College at Jaunpur has been made functional by the State Government through its own resources, an official source reported.
