Uttar Pradesh: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the Congress national secretary and Uttar Pradesh in-charge, today started 3 ‘Pratigya Yatras’ from Barabanki to carry numerous resolutions issued by the party to the people ahead of the coveted election for the state of Uttar Pradesh early next year. “Some significant promises of our manifesto include free e-Scooty and mobile phones for schoolgirls, agricultural loan waiver, Rs. 25,000 per year to impoverished families, electricity bill half for everybody and 100% forgiveness of overdue electricity bills from the Covid time,” the Congress leader said as the yatra began.

At an agricultural field in Barabanki, Congress politician Priyanka Gandhi speaks with women farmers. “I want to learn their (women farmers’) working conditions, how they are rearing their kids, and if they can educate them,” Priyanka Gandhi said of her visit.

The 3 yatras will be held until November 1st. Apart from its election manifesto, Congress will express its “seven pledges” to the people of the state during these rallies. The yatra will traverse a distance of 12,000 kilometres. During the yatra, many news conferences, “nukkad sabhas,” temple visits, roadshows, Jan Sabhas, and other events will be held. Former MP Pramod Tiwari will lead the Varanasi-Rae Bareli route, while PL Punia and former MoS Pradeep Jain Aditya will lead the Barabanki-Bundelkhand route. Former minister Salman Khurshid and senior party leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam will lead the team covering the Saharanpur-Mathura route.
