Raipur: Chhattisgarh govt has announced to celebrate the second national tribal dance festival from October 28 to 30 at Science College ground, Raipur. The confirmation came on Thursday after the Raipur Collector Saurabh Kumar, Municipal Commissioner Prabhat Malik and SSP Prashant Agarwal along with administrative officers inspected the venue. Significantly, Indian Council for Cultural Relationships (ICCR) would be organizing the event.  The first edition of the festival was celebrated in 2019 following which the celebration was curtailed due to the pandemic.

It also reported that CM Baghel invited his Jharkhand counterpart  Hemant Soren to the event. On Wednesday an invitation from Baghel Administration was forwarded to the Jharkhand CM through Chhattisgarh Parliamentary Secretary and Congress MLA Vinod Chandrakar. Mr Hemant on receiving the letter apprised the MLA for the primitive civilizations of the country and efforts taken by the state administration in preserving and developing their culture and traditions by promoting tribal culture, folk dance and folk music, and folk arts through the National Tribal Dance Festival 2021.

 In 2019 nearly, 1,800 artists from 25 states and three Union territories of the country and six other countries (Sri Lanka, Thailand, Maldives, Bangladesh, Uganda and Belarus) presented varied folk dance forms of their respective regions.
