New Delhi: Dr Manmohan Singh, the former Prime Minister of India, is stable and recovering at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, according to hospital officials. The 89-year-old former prime minister has been admitted to the hospital’s Cardio-Neuro Centre and is being treated by a team of cardiologists led by Dr Nitish Naik. The Congress leader had complained of weakness, but he is now in good health and is being monitored by the doctors.

On Thursday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi inquired about the health of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the AIIMS Delhi. Rahul Gandhi spoke with Gursharan Kaur, the former prime minister’s wife, as well as the doctors who were treating Singh. In the evening, the former Congress chief visited around half an hour in the hospital. After suffering from fever and weakness, Dr Manmohan Singh was brought to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Wednesday evening. Several dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have expressed their best wishes for Singh’s health and rapid recovery.
