New Delhi: To combat dengue fever, the Delhi government has launched the ’10 Hafte-10 Baje-10 Minute’ campaign (10 weeks, 10 o’clock, 10 minutes). Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal showing his gesture by creating a campaign video at home for this awareness program and the same video is getting viral on the social media.
“Like last year, we have again started a campaign ’10 Hafte-10 Baje-10 Minute’ to eradicate dengue cases from Delhi,” Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Kumar Jain stated on Wednesday.
Health Minister urged people to spend 10 minutes every Sunday at 10 p.m. for ten weeks inspecting their homes for stagnant clean water. He stated, “If there is stagnant water anywhere at your house, then clean it to avoid the breeding of mosquitoes.” To check mosquito breeding at the premises of government offices in Delhi, he also said that a challan will be issued if larvae are found in any office. “All the department heads have been told to be extra cautious in their respective offices,” he further added.
Cases of vector-borne diseases are usually reported between July and November, but the period may stretch till mid-December According to reports, at least 211 cases have been reported this year till September 18, according to the civic report issued on Monday. So far January reported the least number of cases while monsoon months June and July recorded a surge.
