New Delhi: India reported 34,403 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 97.65 per cent accounted for 37,950 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,25,98,424. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.25 per cent, less than 3 per cent for 18 consecutive days.

The number of active cases stood at 3,39,056 accounting for 1.03 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 3867 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.33 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 320 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,44,248.

Kerala and Maharashtra have more than 50,000 active cases, respective state health departments reported. Kerala has been a cause of national worry sources stated.

The centre today targets to achieve explicit vaccination coverage to commemorate PM Modi’s 71st birthday. So far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, the health department has documented 1.03 crore vaccine administrations as a landmark achievement on August 27. The cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination coverage reached 77.24 crores, the Union Health Ministry said. Nearly, 63.97 lakh beneficiaries were vaccinated in the last 24 hours.
