Karnal: Sources informed the relaxation of suspension imposed on the internet services in Karnal where farmers are staging a protest demanding action against officials behind lathi-charge last month. Assistant district PROB Raghubir Singh confirmed the news, stating “As of now, there is no plan to suspend services again.”

Mobile internet services including 4G were suspended in several districts of Haryana in view of the Mahapanchayat that was organized to protest an incident where an IPS officer ordered police action against protesting farmers. Several businessmen and the general public faced difficulties in processing their basic necessities during the suspension.

The Haryana Govt on September 7th had suspended internet services in the five adjoining districts of Kurukshetra, Jind, Kaithal, Panipat, and Karnal. Atma Ram, DSP Shahbad and Satish Kumar DSP Panipat had earlier confirmed the news of suspension in the affected areas until 10 September.

With no breakthrough in the talks held in Karnal between the Haryana govt and farm leaders protesting against the police crackdown 11 days ago, leaders of the SKM assert to continue their siege of the mini Secretariat in town.
