Raipur: Home Minister Tamardhwaj Sahu has departed to Rajasthan (Jaipur) to attend a meeting of the Congress Manifesto.
Before departing to Jaipur, Mr Sahu while addressing the media stated views about the new OBC reservation scheme that the centre announced lately. As per the amendment, OBC reservation is now being raised to 27%.
Medical and dental courses will now have a 27% reservation for other backward classes and 10% for economically weaker sections (which covers forwards) under the all India quota for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, the government said on Thursday. The reservation will be implemented from the current academic year 2021-22.
It will benefit nearly 1,500 OBC students in MBBS and 2,500 OBC students in post-graduation and around 550 EWS students in MBBS and 1,000 in post-graduation.
Speaking about, delay in the recruitment of police officials, Mr Sahu said that the technical problems of the recruitment process will be rectified to commence the process. He also informed that a separate recruitment process of the police officials is being conducted in Bastar district.
It should be noted that Tamardhwaj Sahu is the chairman of the Rajasthan Manifesto Committee. He is scheduled to arrive at Jaipur to conclude the Congress Manifesto for the state.
