Chhattisgarh: Muslims across the globe are celebrating the festival of Eid-al-Adha or Bakrid on Wednesday. On this occasion, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Shri Bhupesh Baghel congratulated the people of Chhattisgarh.
While extending his heart-felt wishes, the CM said that “the festival of Eid-ul-Adha is the festival symbolizing dedication and abandonment towards God. The festival enhances one’s love towards God”. He further added that the festival also brings in brotherhood in society and unity among masses.
The CM also said that “the festival reminds us of the tradition of mutual harmony, unity, and brotherhood”. The people all over the world are seen offering prayers as health officials continue to warn of the third wave of COVID-19. Meanwhile, the CM also reminded people that they must follow the COVID norms responsibly while celebrating the festival.
Eid al-Adha commemorates the story of the Muslim Prophet Ibrahim’s test of faith as he was commanded by God to sacrifice his son. Thus, the festival is a symbol of sacrifice and devotion towards God. Eid-ul-Zuha or Eid-al-Adha is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah. It is celebrated two days after the Muslims begin Hajj pilgrimage in the last month of the Islamic calendar.
