After being selected as the captain of the upcoming first two outrights Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Bihar, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will be given a very big responsibility at this tournament. In this instance, the 15-year-old will lead the side in their first two matches, at Saurashtra on November 14 and at Railways on November 16, at Indore.
Bihar assistant coach Ashok Kumar said that Sooryavanshi is fit for the task and feels that it will help shape him for the future. It follows captain Sakibul Gani’s regular injury and is expected to affect the middle order.
Earlier he did not have the availability to play in the previous matches but he is now ready to do that.” Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been given the chance to head Bihar because the injured Sakibul Gani needs treatment,” Kumar said.
It also provides a positive message to other young players in this state, also by giving the teenager the position of captain,” the assistant coach added.
This will be the second leadership role for Sooryavanshi this year. In the past, he had been appointed as the vice-captain of East zone team for the Duleep Trophy, which are to take the victory of the Duleep trophy with Ishan Kishan’s leadership for the side.
Bihar league is included in Group B of T20 league after being grouped with Delhi, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Railways, Saurashtra and Tamil Nadu. Sooryavanshi will have a big chance to prove his leadership skills at the domestic level at the next match as well.
