Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali might be gearing up for Inshallah, which he had originally hinted at several years ago but seemed to have been shelved. The director is said to be working with Alia Bhatt on a script for his next film Love & War and the script is reportedly being readied for a new version of the film.

It was initially pitched as a movie in which Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan will star back in 2019. But the project was abandoned following Salman’s reported walkout a couple of days before production was slated to go on screen.

As per a report, both Bhansali and Alia are again mulling its revival in a new outfit. The film is reportedly not in the bill to be a direct comeback of the 2019 version. The central plot may well stay as is, while story and writing of the film might be altered, or can be completely different.

The casting of this film is yet to be decided as well. Earlier the name of Shah Rukh Khan had been connected to the Salman role. The new report, however, indicates that Bhansali yet to finalise its cast and that decision will be taken after having the new script ready.

After finalisation of the script, the casting process of the film is undertaken by Bhansali, a source quoted said. Salman is on the list of upcoming projects with Raj and DK while on the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan hasn’t announced his next venture after King. It is also reported that they have begun considering a younger actor.

The project, if implemented would bring Bhansali and Alia together after Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film was not only a big hit it won Alia a National Award for her performance.

Right now, Bhansali and Alia have devoted themselves to Love & War, which also stars ranbir kapoor and vicky kaushal. The movie will be released in theaters on January 21, 2027.
