Farah Khan’s directorial debut Main Hoon Na, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen, continues to remain a popular Bollywood film years after its release. Now, rumors are again going around of a potential sequel due to Farah’s subtle hint dropped within social media.
It was when actor Arjun Kapoor posted an Instagram story while watching Main Hoon Na at a hotel, that the buzz started. Arjun tagged Farah Khan in his post that the 2004 movie is one of his ‘best of all time’ and that a sequel was required asap.
Farah then went ahead and retweeted Arjun’s statement and replied, “Hahaha… agar kisi cheez ko dil se maango…” which led to the notions about Main Hoon Na 2 which was directed by Farah and starred Shah Rukh Khan.
There were rumours of a sequel, after Farah revealed that she will be directing her next project which puts Shah Rukh Khan in the director’s seat. The filmmaker however, had before brushed aside a claim that the project will be “Main Hoon Na 2”.
Recently, Farah has given an update on her comeback in film in Nakuul Mehta’s vlog. She states that she will direct after her kids venture off to college, and even that there is an online petition urging her to do just that. Farah anticipates starting her job at the end of this year.
Main Hoon Na was released in 2004 starring Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Suniel Shetty, Amrita Rao and Zayed Khan. The movie follows Major Ram, who puts himself in the role of a college student for a military mission. It became a huge hit, and is still connected to Bollywood’s big flicks from the 2000s.
