The Seva Sankalp Yatra from Varanasi held its arrival in the Madhya Pradesh district of Raisen on Friday where Bareli welcomed the movement with a grand ceremony. At a function organized at Hotel GK Palace, PM Modi addressed the various participants and the workers of the ‘yatra’ digitally.
The walk is a part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which is organized to commemorate PM Narendra Modi’s 25 years in the public service. The campaign started on September 17 and features initiatives such as public involvement, community service and outreach programs.
On the occasion of the Raisen programme Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Education Narendra Shivaji Patel handed over Silver conchs and bags to young yatris. There was a huge turnout of the BJP activists, the public representatives and people from the area.
Patel says there have been several trips between Vadnaru, where Modi was born, to Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency. He informed that, 20 such trips have been arranged in both directions with some of them transiting through Madhya Pradesh.
Participants pass through towns, districts, villages and local communities, engaging in service-based activities to interact and communicate with the local people. A broader campaign is also driven to make information known through awareness building on government welfare schemes and public-service initiatives at the grassroots.
The Raisen event concluded with listening to Modi’s virtual interaction and people pledging to make it continue with the activities being associated with the Seva Sankalp campaign. The Seva Yatra is to continue until October 7 and the larger campaign until October 17.
