Actor Mushtaq Khan, whose memorables roles in films like “Welcome” were performed as a supporting actor as well, has passed away at the age of 56 at the heels of a prolonged illness with cancer. Many also in the Hindi film industry have expressed sorrow over his demise.
Anees Bazmee, the filmmaker, took to Instagram and expressed his “heartfelt gratitude” and “warmest condolences” to the late actor. Saying that he shared one of Khan’s photos with Bazmee, he said he remembered Khan as a talented and kind man and showed his grief for the death of the actor to Khan’s family and loved ones.
During the tribute Bazmee said Mushtaq was a ‘truly remarkable artist and a beautiful soul’ and prayed for his soul while providing his family with strength at what was a difficult time.
Actor Raza Murad too paid tribute to Mushtaq Khan in a video statement. He recalled his fellow actor and spoke about his heartbreak.
In Hindi cinema Mushtaq Khan had already film himself and was well known in the field for the supporting role he performed in the year. He had featured in very popular films, including Welcome, which saw him joining an ensemble cast.
His passing has garnered praise from colleagues and the film industry at large for his contributions to both the film industry and as a character actor.
The eulogies of fellow film personnel speak of the influence that Mushtaq Khan had over the industry. His passing is considered to be one of the greatest losses in the Indian film industry to walk the silent straighter’s path for years in supporting/character roles on various Hindi films.
