MP Government issues eviction notices to three Former Ministers over Bhopal bungalows

Bhopal: Government officials have stepped up their activities in Bhopal in regard to houses given on lease by the government to former ministers of Madhya Pradesh. The state’s Home and Estate Department has sent notice of a farm to three former ministers requiring them to move out of B-type government bungalows.

Notice has been sent to former health minister Prabhuram Choudhary, former cooperation minister Arvind Bhadauria and former Tribal Affairs minister Meena Singh.

B class government bungalows are for allocation of the bungalots to the cabinet ministers in accordance with the government rules. The allotments of the bungalows had been taken off the rolls of the government by the time the ministers retired. But the homeowner’s houses lay vacant, so the Estate Department started formal eviction proceedings.

Prabhuram Choudhary and Meena Singh are the incumbent BJP MLAs while Arvind Bhadauria is an ex-MLA who fell short of success. The three former ministers still lived in the remainder of their ministerial home.

The new stance by the Estate Department has resulted in formal notices sent to the former ministers to move out of the properties in the given time.

According to authorities, if they are not moved out after the prescribed notice period, the properties will undergo administrative eviction under the relevant guidelines.

Heirlooms have been allotted to serve ministers and senior members of the incumbent Madhya Pradesh government, the government is expected to allocate the B-type housing units they had acquired when they were an ally of the Congress-Oppo government.

The plan was put in place after the state government expressed concern over the occupancy of official residences allotted to ministers or senior government officials under the appropriate rules.
