Two men were arrested after one of them allegedly claimed to be a PMO official’s bodyguard and was carrying a gun, while the other allegedly produced a suspicious identity card, as they attempted to enter a venue in Mumbai ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s event, police said on Tuesday.
FIRs have been registered at the BKC police station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including those related to impersonating a public servant and unlawful entry while carrying an armed weapon. The crime branch is further investigating the incident, which took place on Monday, police said.
The weapon was found to be licensed, police said. The two men have been detained in connection with the incident.
