KGF fans can finally to binge on Yash’s persona as the makers of ‘Toxic: A fairy tale for Grown-Ups’, dropped the trailer at 7:01 pm, premiering simultaneously in five languages, hinting pan India ambition.
The unveiling took place at a high-profile event in Bengaluru, with Danish Sait as the host of the proceedings. Ahead of the release, the makers dropped a very new poster of Yash in action mode, dressed in black and framed against a backdrop of flames and smoke. The film’s promotion caption the trailer’s arrival ‘detonating’. Interestingly, 7:01 pm slot has fans buzzing too, largely because of Yash’s known affinity for the number eight, a nod that traces back to his birthday.
Toxic is a period gangster drama set in Goa in the 1990s and revolves around the rise of a drug cartel and the bloodshed that follows. Yash plays a dual role in the film, portraying both a father and son, Raya and Rumi.The trailer opens with a scene depicting a toxic father-son relationship between Yash and his son. Amidst the bloodshed and explosions, we see a glimpse into the complex relationship between Yash, Kiara and Tara’s character. Yash plays the dual role of father and son as Raya and Rumi, aka Ticket.
Widely featuring misogyny, heartbreak, rage and greed, we also get to witness a hint of possible clash between father and son ideologies. The video ends with Yash’s Raya and Toxic battling each other with bare hands.
The ensemble cast also features Kiara Advani as Nadia, Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth, Nayanthara as Ganga, Tara Sutaria as Rebecca, and Rukmini Vasanth as Melissa. Helmed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is Yash’s comeback project after ‘KGF: Chapter 2’.It is jointly produced under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. Toxic is now set to release on August 26th, following long battles with its release date.
