The Medical Counselling Committee under the Directorate General of Health Services withdrew its August 3rd notification after a Delhi High Court intervention in the writ petition of Sunil and Anr v Medical Counselling Committee.The court permitted the petitioners to re-register and participate in Round 2 of the NEET SS 2025 counselling process.
The court has directed the MCC to reissue the notice to allow students to re-register Participate in the round two of the NEET SS 2025 counseling. Following the court’s order, the registration portal will now remain open for all candidates until 4 pm on August 7th, while fresh registration and choice filling for round 2 will resume from 10am on August 9th under the revised schedule. The MCC had earlier granted a one-time relaxation to allow candidates allotted seats in round one to resign without forfeiting their security deposit. Candidates participating in NEET SS 2025 counselling have been advised to follow the updated schedule and complete the required formalities within the prescribed deadlines. The committee has not announced any other changes to the counselling process in the latest notice.
For super-specialty aspirants, the NEET-SS 2026 is tentatively scheduled for December 11 and 12, 2026 (Friday and Saturday).Furthermore, National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has fixed the deadline for completion of the necessary prior qualification as January 31, 2027, thus providing the candidates with the necessary timeline.
