The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is going to organise its first core committee meeting in the city of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar to discuss its forthcoming agenda and how to expand the organisation and discuss key public issues in the coming months.
The members from all over the country have been extended an invitation to attend the meeting where Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of CJP, will finalise long-term strategy and agenda for the organisation.
“This meeting has been called to decide our agenda. We will be talking about how to broaden the outfit, the issues we should be talking about with regard to the people and then outlining a pathway for the outfit.
He further ruled out the possibility of CJP becoming a political party and that it will remain a movement of people instead of electoral politics.
The state of the game, according to Dipke, has degraded the trust of citizens in the electoral process. He discussed allegations of voter dropping out, party defection and the involvement of central investigative agencies, saying that all these problems cannot be solved by forming a new political party.
“The thing is we have no plans to make it a political entity; we want it to remain a people’s movement,” he said.
When asked by a Right to Information (RTI) activist to have documents related to his educational loan at Gujarat’s University of Mumbai, scholarship and academic qualifications made public to keep transparent, Dipke chanced it.
This meeting is anticipated to affect CJP’s organisational structure and public campaigns it will be pushing for in the coming months.
