Stepping up its attack on opposition over the theft of donation at Ayodhya’s Ram temple independent MP Rajesh Ranjan performed a skit on the Parliament premises on Friday. Ranjan who portrayed, better known as Pappu Yadav, came to the parliament in a monk’s attire and performed a skit outside the House, which he tried to flee with a donation box and was caught in time. Member of Lok Sabha and opposition leader, Rahul Gandhi, also made a cameo and deposited cash in the donation box.
Videos of the leader featured him slipping money into the his pockets mimicing the alleged theft at the Ram Temple.The performances unfolded like a street play where opposition leaders played the role of devotees stepping up forward to place donations into the collection box.
“Ram Ram japiyo re, sab maal hadapiyo re. Man mein Ram, chintan mein Ram, kaan mein Shiv, jeevan mein saanson mein,” Pappu Yadav later told reporters.However, Pappu’s action of slipping in money into his pocket did not go unnoticed. SP, an SP MP, acting as a devotee, was prompted to confront him over the illegal action, as the story in reality goes.
Senior leaders like Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Samajwadi Party’s Awadhesh Prasad and Dharmendra Yadav, and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s Mahua Maji were among those who participated in the street play, standing behind a big banner that read, “Amit Shah Sadan se ghayb kyun?”The enactment has drawn controversy as the Lok Sabha has taken a strict action regarding the methods of protest in the Parliament House complex.
According to sources, the Secretariat had made it clear that costume-based protests or dramatic demonstrations will not be permitted in the Parliament premises. It is also being reported that Lok Sabha Speaker has expressed displeasure over the entire incident and the preparations underway to implement the existing guidelines strictly. Protesting in front of Makar Dwar of Parliament, the lawmakers raised slogans such as ‘Amit Shah istifa do’, ‘Amit Shah sadan mein aao’ and ‘chadhawa chor, gaddi chhod’.
Issues like the NEET paper leak and the Ayodhya temple donation theft are being raised in the monsoon session, repeatedly disrupting the businesses. The India bloc has said it will attack the government on these issues, demanding justice.
