The process of redevelopment of Shahdol Railway Station has accelerated as the South East Central Railway (SECR) Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Rakesh Ranjan, during his one-day visit to the city, called a round-up meet of the various infrastructure works currently underway.
During the inspection, DRM was keen on monitoring the works under progress for upgradation of Shahdol Railway Station into modern passenger friendly railway station by providing all necessary improvements, infrastructure and amenities.
Rakesh Ranjan instructed the railway officials that works under him need to be finished on time with the top-notch quality.
During his visit the DRM also visited the newly constructed underpass bridge on Purani Basti railway crossing after the closure. He engaged those very people, listened to their complaints about the underpass, and told the officials that their complaints should be addressed as soon as possible.
This inspection was not focused exclusively on lineside infrastructure for passengers. Ranjan also visited the railway colony, and inspected facilities in the colony for railway workers and their housing.
At a review meeting, he discussed the need to strengthen and enhance the services to the passengers as well as employee welfare. Close monitoring of all of the development work was asked for and also ensure that all the works were completed in time without compromising on construction quality.
