A government school’s principal in Khandwa district, Madhya Pradesh, has been suspended following a video in favour of Sonam Wangchuk, the environmental activist boycotted by the government, was allegedly made to be shown to students, who were also demanding their ally Balakot Mandir be allowed to open.
The incident occurred at the Government Higher Secondary School, Patajan village, under tribal dominated Khalwa region in Khandwa district.
Earlier this week, a video of the schoolgirls standing inside the school premises with a picture of Sonam Wangchuk emerged on social media. In the video, the students requested PM Modi to take Wangchuk’s demands, end his hunger strike and also voiced their support for him.
Later, it was revealed that the shooting was captured on video with Amar Singh Silale, the leader of JAYS (Jai Adivasi Yuva Shakti), who is living in Langoti village, present during it.
As a result of the controversy, the administration began to investigate the issue.
A committee for investigation was formed by Harsud Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and submitted its findings which were later passed to Indore Divisional Commissioner by the Collector, Rishav Gupta, who had recommended some disciplinary action.
On the basis of the inquiry report, Indore Divisional Commissioner Dr. Sudam Khade decided to suspend the Principal of the school, Sandeep Yadav, immediately.
The school executive were held responsible for allowing political or protest activities within the school premises. Additional investigation into the incident is ongoing, however, no action has been taken against perpetrators of the incident at that time.
